A New Scottish Exhibition (Edinburgh) and One Kettle…

April 23, 2012

Starting with the kettle…

Passing Delnies near Nairn with the North leg of the ‘Great Britain V’ tour, 46115 put up a fine exhaust in the evening sun light after a showery day.

Whilst not my area of expertise, steam locomotives are worth a quick dash out to photograph…especially when they are passing my home! Rude not to I suppose!

New Edinburgh model railway exhibition:
The Thistle Modelmakers Society are bringing a model railway exhibition back to Edinburgh, to be held at the Portobello Town Hall venue on April 28 and 29th 2012. See you there!

Easter daffodils at Brodie Castle

April 8, 2012

Brodie Castle, (National Trust for Scotland) located midway between Nairn and Forres is famous for its daffodil collection. They grow amongst the trees, in the old walled garden and along the walks too. Brodie is just a ten-minute cycle from the house, and a favourite part of my cycle routes around the area. Brodie is part of the National Collection and the variety of them is extensive. This year, the early spring brought them forth earlier than usual.
